Celebrate Christmas at Halekulani - 2014

Celebrating Christmas at Halekulani is a long-held and much-loved tradition. The warmth of the season is on display, from the lights that frame the front of the building, to the decorated trees and wreaths throughout the property.

For those seeking souvenirs, we offer a Halekulani ornament, created specifically for this year. The ornament and other special gifts is now available at our Halekulani boutique.

With the property decorated and the lights aglow, we begin our celebration of the 12 Days of Christmas. From Saturday, December 13 through Christmas Eve, there are different activities every day, and something new to discover both for kids and those who are still a kid at heart.

The festivities kick off with Jingle Bell Rock, on Saturday, December 13. At 9 a.m., under the Kiawe tree, Christmas tunes will accompany the movement of our instructor, who will bring fun and fitness to an hour-long Christmas-themed workout. On Sunday December 14, Iolani Strings will fill the Living Room of the Main Building with their music. Guests are offered a complimentary sparkling beverage to toast the season.

Our youngest guests can join our chefs, including our pastry chef, Mark Freischmidt, for Visions of Sugar Plums on Friday December 19. They will discover holiday cookie decorating tips, and add their own touches to a gingerbread house. Each participant takes away a small treat. On other days, guests can learn how to hula with the former Miss Hawaii at House Without A Key, or be part of a tour to the Honolulu City Lights Festival, at the Honolulu Hale or City Hall.

Our Christmas events culminate with a special guest from the North Pole. On Christmas Eve, Santa arrives at Gray’s Beach in a typically Hawaiian way, on an Outrigger canoe. Once he greets those at the beach, he attends our Children’s party, which is exclusively for guests at Halekulani. Then he joins our Manager’s Reception at 5:30 p.m. at Hau Terrance, and raises a glass to the season.

Please join us for a dozen days of merriment and fun.
