Christmas Dining at Halekulani

The holidays are special at Halekulani, so the flavors of the season inspire our menus on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. “We have dining at three venues, and we want to offer our guests a real selection of options,” says Executive Chef, Vikram Garg. “That way, whatever they’re craving, they can find it at one of our restaurants.”

Our menus feature local fare, as well as dishes that capture the feeling of being in Hawaii for Christmas. At House Without a Key, on Christmas Eve from 5:00 p.m., and on Christmas for lunch or dinner, guests can select from a three-course, Christmas Table d’hôte menu including appetizer, main course and dessert. “For one of the selections, we offer hanger steak, marinated in red wine and black pepper, with braised carrots and mushrooms. It’s in a lemongrass sauce, to reflect the taste of the islands,” says Chef Garg.

“We want to offer our guests a lavish buffet,” he says, so Christmas at Orchids Restaurant is a bounty of choice. There are Hawaiian selections at our signature Ocean Table, complete with fresh local fish, as well as prime rib and turkey at our Carving Station. On December 24 and December 25, guests can enjoy a brunch buffet from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The brunch will be accompanied by entertainment, featuring classical and contemporary music. Orchids will also offer a sumptuous Christmas Dinner buffet on both evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Our five-star, neo-classical French restaurant, La Mer, rings in the season with set-menu options. From 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on both Christmas Eve and Christmas, La Mer offers three menus to choose from, including exceptional fare such roasted turbot, with glazed kohlrabi and mussels marinière style. Each menu offers a distinctly delectable dessert, along with petit fours to complete the meal.

Guests of our other Waikiki Beach Hotel, Waikiki Parc, have signing privileges at Halekulani, making our restaurants an exceptional destination for celebrating the holidays.
