The Flavors of Christmas Come to Halekulani
Halekulani celebrates the holidays with a selection of seasonal menus. “Special dinners are available throughout the Christmas weekend at our three restaurants” says Oswaldo Rabago, Assistant Director of Food & Beverage.
House Without a Key, a favorite destination for dining in Waikiki, offers a four-course, prix-fixe menu in addition to its à la carte menu. “The first course offers a choice from a trilogy of seafood appetizers,” Oswaldo says. “The second course is our signature steamed onaga. The main course is a 12-ounce, slow-roasted prime rib. For dessert, we’re offering a chestnut mont blanc.” This special menu is $80 per person, or $38 for children ages 5-12, and is available Friday, December 23 through Sunday, December 25 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Over the Christmas weekend, guests at Orchids have two options for dinner. The prix-fixe menu has four courses, each with two choices. The second course, for example, offers guests either risotto with porcini mushrooms, or Chef de Cuisine Christian Testa’s special Lasagnette featuring fresh, chef-made pasta. The main course is a choice of succulent Harris Ranch Prime Beef Filet, or tender Hawaiian Seabass. The menu is $120 per person, or $60 for children ages 5-12. Alternatively, guests can enjoy our lavish Christmas Dinner buffet, priced at $98 per person, or $48 for children ages 5-12. Dinner is from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The à la carte menu is not available over the Christmas weekend. Orchids’ spectacular Christmas brunch buffet is offered from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 24 and on Christmas Day. This sumptuous brunch Honolulu loves is $98 per person, or $48 for children ages 5-12.
La Mer offers superlative fine dining. Honolulu and Hawaii’s only restaurant to receive five-star designation by Forbes Travel Guide rings in the season with two set-menu options. The four-course menu, priced at $200 per person, includes a main course of Filet of Beef, Foie Gras and Truffle Mousseline. Or for $260, guests can indulge in our seven- course menu, which includes Duck Foie Gras, Kona Lobster Carpaccio and Roasted Filet and Veal Sweet Bread. La Mer will also offer a limited à la carte menu over the Christmas weekend and will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Lewers Lounge will be open from 5:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., offering Christmas entertainment. On Friday, December 23 and on Christmas Eve, jazz pianist and vocalist Maggie Herron performs with upright bassist Dean Taba. On December 25, renowned pianist Tommy James entertains.
